Moovit extends from Granada to metropolitan Area

The council of Mobility claim that it will help to planify routes and avoid waiting times both in urban and interurban transport.

 

This app leader in public transport Moovit, that has been presented in the city of Granada two months ago, in the European Mobility Week, will be available before the end of the year for all lines of Metropolitan Consortium in Granada and will include, from today on, an alarm system to give users permanent information about bus lines status that are normally used for their displacements, as Mobility Council Raquel Ruz has explained.

These two innovations has been presented this morning in the City Council in an act where, beside Mobility council, has intervened the vicepresident of Product and Marketing ofMoovit, Yovav Maydad, who is very pleased of the degree of implementation of the aplication in the city of Granada, that has already 18.641 users, that is satisfied with this app in a 4.5 over 5.

For Raquel Ruz, improvements stablished with this mobile app contribute to improve connections between the capital and bordering towns and will help granadines planify thei routes and avoid unnecessary waiting times, not only in urban transport but interurban too.

This free app Moovit went operative in Granada the past September to ease public transport users to choose with their mobile phone the best combination for their displacements, and know in real time the arrrival of bus to their stop as well. Granada adds to 1200 cities around the world with this service available .

In this moment using this app, available in 43 languages for Android, iPhone and Windows Phone, is possible to check 635 stops and 30 routes that makes up urban bus network of the city, providing user real time data, as Yovav Maydad has explained.

Official information of transport is completed with data given from the same passengers that use this tool, and may cooperate givig live data about their trip just travelling with the app open, or giving proactive info sending reports about faster streets or with more density of traffic .

Data of collective urban public Transport are incorporated straightaway in the editor of Moovit from the City Council of Granada (@cgimgranada), having a great liability of info due to the permanent update of data.

Information offered is divided in three categories. From one side is a route planner where user says where, date and what time and app offers three options of route. App allows to check bus fleet availability in real time and in the end, includes a system of notifications and alerts related to punctual changes, road works or any other incidence.

Raquel Ruz has remarked the importance of this app in a touristic city as Granada is because allows visitor quickly know our public bus network and move swiftly through the city, also can get to all info smoothly, because is available in many languages.

Moovit, has achieved 50 million users around the world, is available in cities as New York, London, Los Ángeles, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Paris, Sao Paulo, Río de Janeiro, Bogotá, Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, México DF, Sidney, Toronto and Tel Aviv, among others.
