Granada addes to cities that bet for a new mobility, safer and more sustainable, with the arrival to the city of 21 brand new hybrid buses to be incorporated to the urban public transport fleet, within the Renewal Plan of the Fleet signed between the City Council of Granada and the concessionary company of urban transport, Transportes Rober.

During his speech, Luis Salvador has appreciated Rober and Mercedes for their excellent technology and high reputation brand vehicles; the councellor and Mobility area for their outstanding work; and Junta de Andalucía for their multiple cooperative effort on the behalf of mobility in Granada and the associations and colletives of the sector, present at the act, for their contribution and support.
Referring to the slogan of the campaign of these new hybrid busese Y tú qué haces por la movilidad?, the Major has appealed the public to use public transport on their displacements around the city vehicles that have obtained the AENOR quality seal to certify safetyunos. He also, has appealed citizens to return gradually, with all protective measures, to normal life, mobility, consumerism and contribute to reactivate economic activity and employment.
Finally, the Major has englobed these new vehicles 21 buses up to a total of 39 in a year within the bet of local government for a green city, with endless current projects, like Huella Verde or tree planting and many other current and planned initiatives ato improve Granada in all its aspects.
En la misma línea, el edil de Movilidad, César Díaz, ha tildado a la jornada como un día histórico para la movilidad sostenible y ha recordado que la incorporación de los nuevos vehículos se enmarca en un plan de renovación de la flota; supone el mayor esfuerzo inversor en la historia de la concesión por valor de 12 millones de euros; y evidencia la apuesta del gobierno local por el transporte ecológico en los desplazamientos.
Referring to benefits of these new hybrid buses for the environment, Días remembered thatimply a reduction of CO2 pollution of more than 468.000 kg a year, and will help improve quality of air of the city and added that their emmissions are a 82% lower than maximum limit emmissions fixed by normative.
About the characteristics of the vehicles, as the councellor explained there are 5 articulated buses and 16 conventional 12 meters long, with the latest equipment innovations, as double space for disabled people, USB connectors inside the bus, or double manual-electric ramp, which gives a total accessibility.
