City Council makes an arrangemet with FEMP to improve the processing of violations made by foreigner

On 2018, there have been processed 43.000 files of violations of people resident out of Spain.

 

The City Council of Granada has signed an agreement with the Federación Española de Municipios y Provincias (FEMP), that comes into force today, to improve the management of violations made by people from out of Spain, because, until now, goes umpunished due to the inability of the Tax Services due to the complexity of the identification and notification of violators.

The councellor of Citizen´s Security and Mobility, César Díaz, has announced today in a press conference that the measure, that mean a revenue estimated at around a million euros, guarantee an equal treatment to all citizens, and puts an end as well to an undesirable ineffectiveness in fullfilling safety standards in our city.

As he explained, this situation has been occurred because of the complesity the processing violatiosn when violator lifes out of Spain due to the difficulties to identify and localization of the violator required to proceed to notificate the fine.

César Díaz has said that on 2018 the Mobility Area have processed a sum ofr 43.000 violations of people living out of Spain.

Is worth to mention that, most of this violations are due to the improper access to the city center in an area controlled by a sum of 18 cameras on bus lanes and reserved lanes to achieve fluidity on public transport in Granada and speed on displacements of people that bet for substainable mobility The agreement made allow the City Council to be under the contract made with FEMP with some companies to manage violations of residents abroad with a cost of 40 per cent of the sum of fines paid, without paying an additional cost of handling.
