Car Free Day comes this Sunday 12 May to Chana district with an extensive programme of recreational activities.
Carretera de Málaga welcomes an extensive programme of recreational activities that will close traffic from 9:00 to 15:00 hours in the section between Puente Zarabanda and Circunvalación de la Encina.
The Car Free Day organised by the City Council of Granada, comes this Sunday 12 May to Carretera de Málaga, in Chana district, where, from 10:00 hours, attendees can join a huge programme of recreational and leisure activities aimed to arise conciousness on citizenship of benefits of alternative means of transports.
With the slogan Park your car and enjoy Granada, this municipal initiative fulfil its purpose of celebrate this car free day in all districtis of the city. For the moment, it has been celebrated in Center, Realejo and Zaidín.
In this ocasion, chosen district has been Chana, so there will be traffic cut from 9:00 to 15:00 hours in Carretera de Málaga, in section between Puente Zarabanda and Circunvalación de la Encina.
In this edition, among all usual activities as the Barter Corner, a market place aimed to child audience to exchange toys, books and videogames or the Ecomarket and Handcraft bazaar, there will be an exhibition carried out by the team Granada Lions and another one carried out by Gimnasio We. Also, attedees can enjoy, among other activities, flamenco, zumba and recycling workshops.
A bicycle and roller skate track, a Local Police and Firemen exhibition and an electric vehicles exhibition compose the programme planned for this Sunday in the Car Free Day in Granada.
Timetable of activities in Carretera de Málaga will be between 10:00 and 14:00 hours.
Mobility and Citizen´s Protection councellor in the City Council of Granada, Raquel Ruz, encourage citizenship to join this Sunday Chana district and join this large programme of activities run by the City Council to arise conciousness about the necessity of use of alternative means of transport alternative to car that, as she said, will improve our environment and consequently, quality of life.
Due to traffic cut in Carretera de Málaga, between Circunvalación la Encina and Villarejo, bus lines 4 and N1 will be affected and will be diverted through: Circunvalación la Encina - Andalucía Avenue- Cruz del Sur, retaking its usual itinerary in Sur Avenue, towards Center. In Chana sense of direction, buses get through Andalucia Avenue, following through it in case of line 4 and turning to Circunvalacion de la Encina in case of N1.
