Beginning of the educational activities on TRL´s and spaces reserved to cyclists
From October 5th, the Educational Center in Road Safety of the City Council of Granada begin educational activities on TRL´s and spaces reserved to cyclists in the current school year.
We are in a beginning of a difficult school year due to the pandemic, so back to school is a mixture of illusion and fear, said the councellor César Díaz to young people of school Jesuitinas that, bets for sustainable displacements that Granada needs, have requested for the Bike Sessions of the City Council, and train at the Educational Center in Road Safety, under maximum security conditions, to learn to circulate safely on reserved spaces for bikes , MPV and Public Transport.
"You are experiencing a bundle of emotions as all of us are after confinement:
- Illusion, because we leave monotony of house and family, as usual from March, and your wishes to make new activities and learn new things, to meet your friends again, and also teachers, that at heart you have missed too...
- Fear, anxiety facing a situation full of guidelines, social distance, face masks, stickers to mark where to go in school... something that we wasn´t get used to, something that force us to be or act naturalness...
Today you are brave to join normality, you, your parents and teachers as well... you don´t want to miss educative options and keep learnig cautiously.
We are very excited that you wanted to begin your school activities with us, in your City Council, in the Educational Center in Road Safety with such good memories. I wanted to welcome you because you are helping us and lead example to fight this battle joining normality, without reducing our EDUCATION, but under sanitary measures to everyone, checking every detail before this meeting."
From the City Council we are working to make Granada a city:
- Where we can breathe clean air, without noise
- Where all can have a place to be: pedestrians, bikes, Pmv, public transport (light rail, taxi, bus), non polluting vehicles and high occupancy level.
- With public spaces that ease to meet, live, enjoy our streets and green, sport and cultural spaces.
In the end, the Granada you showed in the drawing contest Érase una vez un bus... and we like to be our guideline.
We inaugurate these Ciclyst sessions, more exicited than other years, because they are more neccesary due to present time, where cleaner air helps to reduce virus levels, and that means HEALTH: this is the target of our measures incluiding TRL, measures already taken in the rest of the cities.
Welcome and cheers to the rest of educative centers to join these Sessions, no fear, because the installations and sanitary guidelines are carefully guarded and daily checked up.
