New parking next to PTS
Granada runs a new parking with 190 parking places next to PTS, rising to 420 new available parking spaces from March 2024 in this expansion area in the city.

Granada adds a new parking area of 4.995 square meters and capacity of 190 parking places in Menéndez Pelayo St, in the vicinity of new Hospital Universitario San Cecilio in PTS, added to the previous 7.600 squared meters and 230 parking places already in service.
The city provides in just over two months a sum of 420 new parking places in high demand of parking places. This new parking area, managed by Grupo Cariño, that includes a new line of bussiness to their range of companies, already 6 different activities which employ almost 200 people, is located in an open area with sport equipment of Plan Parcial PP-S2 Campus de la Salud, and has an investment over 150.000 euros.
As the Mayoress of Granada, Marifrán Carazo, has explained on her visit this morning at the new infrastructure, joined by the councils of Urbanism, Enrique Catalina, and Mobility and Citizen´s Protection, Ana Agudo, and the president of bussiness group Cariño, José Manuel Peña García, has remarked the hugh effort made by the services of Urban Management and Planification of the City Council of Granada to provide services fast and effectively in an expansion area of the city that has been already in use without a previous planification.
After the obteinance of license by the Urbanism area last March 6 2023, this new private parking has favorable environmental rating, and aproved administrative processing to launch the project.
On the other hand, the good work and the interest of the municipality to unlock urbanistic issues asap, has also intercede with Endesa company to solve a technical problem in the parking area that is already solved by both parts, said the first councellor.
Carazo has referred also the lack of parking areas in Parque Tecnológico de la Salud area, that beside the entry of functioning of this complex with sanitary and universitary centers, adds the implementation of leading companies of I+D+I and investigation.
Carazo has reminded that the new parking addes to the area -located in avenida del Conocimientoand la Investigación with access from GR-30 - that has been recovered by the City Council of Granada last March after 20 years of disused.
This government team has achieved the recuperation of this area as parking in a record time, temporarily, to relieve the lack of parking areas in this expansion area in Granada, both residents and people coming to sanitary centers, said.
Also, she is very satisfied to put on the table solutions to mobility problems that dayly affects both neighbours of Zaidín District to hundreds of people that dayly go to hospital, educational and work centers in the area of PTS, although she also has regretted the lack of foresight and incapacity of management of last government team.
