On June 24 2025 come into operation new urban bus line number 7, that joins urban bus lines N8 and 25, answering neighbourhood requests and improving connections with Fargue, La Rosaleda and Parque de las Alquerías with the city center of Granada.
The City Council of Granada, through Mobility Area, has approved the fusion of current bus lines N8 and 25 of collective urban transport to create a new bus line: Line 7, that connects in a more effective way El Fargue, Rosaleda and Parque de las Alquerías districts with the city center.
This actuation gives anwer to neighbourhood requests and associations of these districts, and aslo technical reports justifying the necessities to improve frequencies , enlarge connections and optimize service.
Rearrangement not only improves schedule and frequencies, historically requested, but facilitate essential connection with other bus linee, reduce pollution, optimize the use of vehicles and human resources of service, on a clear commitment for a more efficiency and sustainable system.
The operation means a light additional cost a year, due to the incorporation of a third vehicle to achieve frequencies of each trip on labour days, even though it is compensated with adjustments made last two years and expected increasement of this service. It is expected to increase a 80% of users in the within current bus line 25, and an improvement of the demand and profitability of service.
With the fusion, network simplifies, less waiting hours, enlarge itineraries and mean a real competitive alternative to private vehicle. New bus line gives answer to the necessities of a growing population in areas like Parque de las Alquerías, and streghten the role of public transport as backbone of urban sustainable mobility in Granada.
New urban bus Line 7 will start operate on June 24 2025, once the technical adaptation and update of signals and stops by Transportes Rober is over.
