As it follows there is a list of the more relevant projects developed in the Educational and Road Safety education Center in the last years.
Granada celebrates the European Mobility Week with more than sixty activities planned by the City Council from 16 to 22 September.
The City Council runs a road safety campaign for the elderly. The Major, Francisco Cuenca, visits the informative stands in Plaza del Carmen due to the International Day for the Elderly.
Motorbike conferences coexisting with bicycles recieve this year students from different high schools and, for the first time, from the University of Granada.
The councellor of Mobility, Raquel Ruz, assured that the message has got through on road safety, but we cannot lower our guard.
On 14 and 21 December, from 11:00 to 13:00 hours, at Humilladero Square, next to Fuente de las Granadas, takes place this installation of snow chains workshop.
Under the European project STARS, Muncipal Center in Road Safety organised an urban educational route on bike greeting Christmas.
Last 9 January at 11:30 hours was the performance of the play in the Municipal Theatre Isabel la Católica, created, directed and performed by the student body and teacher staff of the Special Education School Purísima Concepción.
The Educational Center for Road Safety of the Mobility area organises a musical performance at Theatre Isabel la Católica created, directed and performed by the student body and teacher staff of the Special Education School Purísima Concepción Hermanas Hospitalarias of Granada.
Last 26 and 27 February, included in european STARS project, there have been made several routes and practical classes for students of different centers in Granada.
Granada celebrates from 16 to 22 September European Mobility Week with an activity programme aimed to raise aware on citizens about benefits in the use of transport other than private vehicle.
City Major, Francisco Cuenca, has thanked educational centers of Granada their cooperation to achieve a more substainable mobility , that is changing the image of our city and making it more modern, clean and habitable. Cuenca has made these statements on the delivery of the award Reconocimiento de Bronce, award given by the UE, to schools Juan XXIII, San Isidoro and Andrés Segovia for their participation on Project Stars encouraging displacements on bike to school.
The National Confederation of Driving Schools have settled in Paseo del Salón an overturning simulator to inform in a practical sense about efficiency of safety belt to save lifes.
So, on this driving and overturning simulator, drivers get in the car, put on safety belt and experience, when the car overturns, the importance of correct use of safety belt preventing from fly out of the car, because they remain on their seats after the overturn, thanks to the use of safety belt.
In the morning of 3 Octobe, in Plaza del Carmen, Road Safety Center of Granada, Red Cross and the Official College of Psychology celebrated the International Day of Elderly Peolple.
From the Mobility Area want to ease urban displacements for elderly people and make them safer ease: get them to their leisure places, their social relationships and familiar, or even their participation in educative activities to recycle them and increase their Road Safety before this changing world we are living in.
On 24, 25 and 26 October 2017 took place in the Educational Center on Road Safety these conferences of motorbikes and bikes. Organised by the Educational Center on Road Safety of the Mobility Area of the City Council of Granada, teached by Vespacito Association and Mutua Motera.
Invited by Red Cross, the Municipal Educational Center on Road Safety of the Mobility Area attended the last Meeting of 2017 about Elderly where recycle themselves and work togheter, among other things, on Road Safety.
During this course, have joined Project STARS two new educational centers: CEP Arrayanes and IES Ángel Ganivet.
We continue the commitment made from the City Council of Granada, through the Mobility Area and its Educational Center in Road Safety, to encourage active displacements between schoolchilds through European Project STARS. These 3 associated centers on the last course have been awarded with Bronze Medal due to their high involvement and innovative projects.

The City Council of Granada trhough its Educational Center in Road Safety (Mobility), besides teaching for 6 consecutive years Cyclists Workshops in those Educational Centers, has joined Project STARS to encourage substainable and healthy displacements, teaching to be safer.
New school centers request to learn to circulate on bike through the city center.
Educative centers recieve a training theoretical-practical course in the facilities of the Educational Center in Road Safety and after that make a route around the historical city center, where coexistence with traffic present greater difficulties for schoolchilds.
Public school Arrayanes, in North District of the city of Granada, joins the active displacements on foot to school, framed in European project STARS.
Technicians of the Educational Center in Road Safety accompany fathers, mothers, relatives, neighbours, and kids themselves on a journey to school where children are teached to make it in a safe way sharing that moments with friends and school mates.

School Padre Manjón in Pulianas Avenue put into practice, with the technicians of the Educational Center in Road Safety of the City Council of Granada, families and teachers, going to school with their classmates on foot.

Last Friday 18 May 2018, due to the repection of ERASMUS students of school San Isidoro, togheter with the ambassadors of Project STARS of the same school, and its teaching staff as well, was organised a Educational Workshop of substainable and healthful displacements on bike promoted by the Municipal Educational Center on Road Safety that are being implemented over the school year.
School Andrés Segovia, integrated for second consecutive year in european project STARS, organises walking bus to school.
Fathers and mothers, teachers and students of a school in Zaidin district, integrated for second year in the European Project STARS, with technicians of the Educational Center in Road Safety, design safe routes to ease active displacements to school of children: on foot or bicycle.
The City Council of Granada, through its Educational Center in Road Safety, cooperate with the General Management of Traffic and BABY´s shops in an Educational Workshop celebrated on 16 June.
On Thursday June 21st 2018 took place the closure acts of the activities in the Educational Center in Road Safety of the Mobility Area in this school year 2017/2018.
11.132 students of all ages and ways of displacement have joined the activities organised by the Municipal Educational Center in Road Safety in Granada, whose objectives are: promote healthier and substainable displacements in a safer way.
On Wednesday 27 July the Council of Mobility and Citizen´s Protection Raquel Ruz and representatives of motorbike associations: Vespacito and Mutua Motera have presented an educational DVD abour driving on motorbike as a part of the activities of the Educational Center on local Road Safety whose aim is to address a problem in our city, according to the diagnosis given by the Urban Plan on Road Safety: motorbikes.
The City Council of Granada, Red Cross and the Official School of Psychology inform Elderly how to get old in an active, healthy and safety way.
Coinciding with the International Day of Elderly, was celebrated, with great public attendance, at Fuente de las Batallas, Road Safety Workshops for elderly, in the morning of the 6th October 2016.
These conferences, organised by the Educational Center in Road Safety on 20, 21 and 24 October, are teached by two renowed motorbike associations in our city: Mutua Motera and Vespacito.
The Educational Center in Road Safety of the Mobility Area and Citizen´s Protection organise the XV Motorbike Conferences and VI Coexistence with bicycles, presented by the Delegated Council, Raquel Ruz, and intended for young motorbikers of our city about to begin in this mean of transport.
Concentration took place on 20th November 2016 at Fuente de las Batallas.
One more year, due to the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, last Sunday 20 November has taken place a tribute concentration for road traffic victims and their families at Fuente de las Batallas where have met a large group of citizens, relatives, members of the NGO stop accidentes and dignataries of the city council of Granada.
The City Council of Granada encourages a Road Safety Campaign coinciding with Christmas to improve driving in roundabouts.
Due to Christmas season where displacements both in general and motorised increase, and according to the municipal Urban Plan in Road Safety, roundabouts are a special hot spot for accidents in Granada. The Area of Mobility and Citizen´s Protection, has made an Informative Campaign about safe driving in roundabouts, with special respect to those more vulnerable: two-wheeled vehicles both general and specially cyclists.
Schoolchilds from three educational centers will encourage their schoolmates to go to school walking, on bicycle or using public transport.
On 6th February 2017 was celebrated a Joining Ceremony of 3 educational centers to this project. It was headed by the Delegate of Mobility Area Raquel Ruz Peis with the Delegate of Education Jemima Sánchez Iborra and the Provincial Traffic Chief José Vico.
The area of Mobility and Citizens Protection runs a new project to push active, substainables and safe displacements between schoolchilds.
More than 1.200 students in Granada dialy go to their educational centers walking or cycling, thanks to european STARS project started up by the City Council of Granada, will encourage through an informative campaing to the rest of schoolchilds of the city to join this project.
On Friday 12 May has celebrated the press conference to present these free courses. This press conference is headed by the Delegate of Mobility, Mrs. Raquel Ruz, Provincial Traffic Chief, Mr. José Vico, and the responsible of the these courses Ford, Drive your life in Spain, D. José Pérez.
On the week from 8 to 14 May, celebrates the IV Worldwide Week of Road Safety organised by the UN.
The City Council of Granada joins this celebration, true to our commitment undertaken to improve Road Safety in our city.
On Monday 12 June in the Plenary Room of the City Council celebrated the closure ceremony of the educational activities made by kids and joung people in different projects to improve Road Safety in Granada.
There has been started the 2014/15 course in the Road and Security Safety Center of the City Council of Granada.
On 22 september 2014 began these theorical- practical courses of Road Safety in the Road and Security Safety Center in Huerta del Rasillo street in Granada.

These activities are aimed to school child of Primary, Secondary and High Schol, and also to School Regulators of traffic, Round Tables, Drawing contest, Motorcyclist´s meeting and Safety School Routes.

Also there have been imparted courses to School Regulators of traffic and dated the beginning of the Cyclist and Motorbikes Meeting.
More Road Safety at schools. The Traffic School Regulators put order and and discipline at the end of their schools.
Both pedestrians and drivers, all of them have their time distributed by Regulators to avoid the risk of an accident involving schoolchilds and improve mobility in the surroundings of the educative centres.

Aproximately 230 young people from 16 to 18 years old.
Teach young people how to ride a moped to develop behaviours that affect safe riding of moped from the first time they use them.
The activity divides in two parts:
The 3rd November 2014 starts one of the activities carried out by the Local Center of Road Safety focused to young people: Las Mesas Redondas en los Institutos de Granada.
This is an interdisciplinary activity that offer information about Road Safety and prevention of accidents from a very varied point of view:
The beginning of the Round Tables have been at the IES Albayzin and has been focused to Secondary School students with ages between 16 to 18 years old.
They take place every monday of the school year from 12 to 14 hours.
Celebration in the Road Safety Educational Center of the City Council of Granada of the III World Road Safety Week.
The United Nations, having declared the road accident rates as a pandemic in the whole world, commemorate every year the celebration of Road Safety, where stimulates governments around the world to join against this problem.
This year the aim is the CHILDREN: more than 500 children died each day because of traffic accidents. The goal of 0 victims because of the children retention system (SRI) has not been achieved.
The City Council of Granada ,through its Educational Center for Road Safety in the Mobility Area, organised an Adhesion Event with children of Granada, represented in more than 200 kids of the educational centers Sierra Elvira( as pedestrians) and Ave María Casa Madre (joiners of the Bicycle Conferences)This event was headed by the Major Mr. José Torres Hurtado, the Provincial Traffic Chief Mr. José Vico and the Attorney of Road Safety in Granada Mr. Pedro Jiménez, and also the Deputy Major of Citizens Protection and Mobility Mrs. Telesfora Ruíz.

Organised by the Local Office of Mobility and Citizens Protection, through the Road Safety Center, and Granada al Pedal, have teached in this course 825 students (triple than last course).
Students of educative centers, from 6th degree in Primary School.Secondary, High School and Training Cycles...Ages, in general, very suitable due to tthe psycho-physical maturity of the schoolchilds, to fulfill this activity that educates in Security of the new styles of displacements more beneficial with our health ( physical and psychological) and for the health of our city.

The closure of the course 2014/15 was on 18 june, presided by the Major of Granada,the Metropolitan Chief of Traffic, the Council of Citizens protection and Mobility and the Council of Education.
One more year we meet in this Assembly Room to celebrate the closure of the educational activities related with such an important thing in our city as their Road Safety is.
The City Council of Granada, has always assumed a big responsability with everything related with Road Safety: joining to the Social Contract for Road Safety subscribed in the Senate and the joining to the European Charter of Fundamental Rights of Pedestrians, Ponle Freno Award 2012, Urban Road Safety 2012 sponsored by the Department of Traffic (DGT).
In Granada, most of all between the children population, youth and elderly, Road Safety and to motivate ways of displacement more susbtainable and healthy,is not a pending subject because it is something worked every day, however we must continue teaching to improve quality of life in our urban space.

Organized by the Educational Center and Road Safety of the Granada City Council and teached by experts of the Center and Vespacito Association as well.
The city of Granada has a vehicle fleet of 170.248, a 14% are motorbikes son motocicletas and are 11,5% mopeds. In relation with last year, the fleet has decreased in 3000 vehicles, except motorbikes that increases a 0,3%.
In a general level there is a decreasing evolution of the urban accidents rate from 2008 to 2013.

Two wheels vehicles represent the 25% of the total of the vehicle fleet and the 50% of injured and the 37% of the involved vehicles, that make drivers a risk group to focus the local actions in road safety.
The age range with a larger number of motorbike accidents is between 35 to 59 years, many of them are car drivers that due to economic reasons have changed the car for motorbikes without driving experience on them. The moped drivers are mostly women, while in motorbikes there are mostly men.
July has the higher level of accidents with motorbikes and mopeds, followed by December and January. The days with more motorbike accidents are wednesday,thursday and fridays, and the more dangerous hour is between 14 and 15 hours. In mopeds the most dangerous day is friday and the more dangerous hours are between 14 to 15 hours and between 18 and 22 hours.
The XII Motorbike Conferences want to improve the formation and awareness raising of young people, principal subjects of traffic accidents in the city driving two wheels vehicles.
In this edition there has been duplicated the number of school centers and students. There are 270 students between 16 and 18 years joining this initiative of the following centers:
The subjects to teach are Active and Passive Safety, Security Measures, Driving techniques motorbike mechanics, factors that increase the risk of accidents and Attitudes that ease or difficult Road Safety.
We use a theoretical-practical methodology consisting of one session in the classroom, where the contents are teached, using audiovisual resources and injured testimonies, and a practical session about driving skills in a circuit, using motorbikes and mopeds.
From the 16th of september to the 16th of october 2013 you could visit the exposition in the patio of the Granada City Council.
The Citizen´s Protection and Mobility Area, through the Education and Road Safety Center of the Granada City Council, organizes this exposition in the European Mobility Week.
The exposition "Road Safety and Humor" of the Instituto Quevedo del Humor (University of Alcalá de Henares) tackles a very important aspect as secure mobility is, in a positive way, using humor to educate in Road Safety, main target in a local level, so the exposition brings a new and original way to understand Road Safety.
We can find some aspects of traffic: the use of safety belts, the use of helmet, security distance, speed, abuse of alcohol, use of the mobile phone, or the driving license; elements that affect security when driving, and it uses humor to get to the citizens in a entertaining way.
This exposition was produced by the Graphic Humor Programme and took part of the XII International Exhibition of Graphic Humor (2005). There are 130 pictures from 32 countries that tackles a wide geographical representation.

The January 21, 2014 will be inaugurated the II Cyclist Conferences composed of 24 sessions distributed along the current course. More than 640 schoolchilds in the city will be trained in cyclist subjects.

The Mobility and Citizen Protection Area bets for a safer ways of moving, more sustainable, healthy and first of all the target is to be SAFE.
Through their Road Safety Center, with Granada al Pedal, the II Cyclist Educational Conferences have been started, wich target is to educate and teach how to use this vehicle as a mean of transport more healthe and less polluting to encourage in our city, as it has been settled in the rest of the countries of Europe.
To encourage bicycle there have been making different procedures on the infrastructure and Sensibility Campaings aim both cyclist and drivers of motorized vehicles as well.

After a theorical session with the normative and safety signs contents, they will practice in a track the skills needed when riding a cycle, and finally they will go out using different roads: metropolitan cycle lanes, sport cycle lane, urban cycle lane and road without cycle lanes.

January 30, 2014 have been celebrated in the Red Cross Headquarters in Granada these conferences of Road Safety, organised by the City Council in Granada, the Red Cross and the Ilustrious Official Association of Psychologist.
The traffic accidents are a world public sanity problem, being a high risk group eldery and joung people.
In Granada, after the diagnosis made by the Local Road Safety Plan, we are able to constitute as transport´s risk groups in Granada:
For the third year there have been organised a Road Safety Conferences with the Red Cross and the Official Association of Psychologist where eldery and young have learn togheter their risk behaviours that may imply traffic accidents and also how to prevent and make safer displacements.
The presentation was presided over the President of the Red Cross, Mr. Escribano, the Dean of the Official Association of Psychologist Mrs. M.M. Vera and the Representative of the Citizen´s Protection and Mobility Representative of the City Council in Granada, Mrs. Telesfora Ruiz.
After that, specialists of the Red Cross and the City Council of Granada, both psycologists, gave workrooms where they shared and worked with togheter with some messages for young people as: consumption of alcohol, speed , mobile phones, helmet... and the eldery: lapses, lose of some abilities and how to balance them, the consumption of medicines and its consequences... With a high involvement of both collectives with subjects relatives to Road Safety.
When it finished, they had been given material made by the Local Educational Road Safety Center aimed to both groups: posters and notebooks for the eldery and panflets about alcohol and markers promoting night buses on weekends for the young people.
The assistance and participation was very very high with high demand for the continuity and frequency of these initiatives.
On 30 April 2014 starts the programme of Safe School Routes developed by the Road Safety Center of the City Council of Granada.
This project of Safe School Routes developed by the Road Safety Center of the City Council of Granada, is a initiative came up in the cities, where worries to recover the spaces children had before and at present has been occupied by vehicles. Streets are meant to be spaces, not only to walk around but to live together.In the end,the purpose is to recover the streets for children as source of learning and social and personal development, as they were not long time ago
There are a compound of actuations to make come true a project expected to be extended to many other educative centers:
There have been located 4 meeting points, always in a wide space for pedestrians, for child safety and adult´s relief:
We are not alone in this project but we have the contribution of the University of Granada through the Faculty of Psychology and the Official College of Psychology that offer their professional point of view to the families about the physical, social and maturity development skills of children, offer autonomy, healthy habits of displacement, development of social skills because improve displacements in company and responsibility, from some ages and with the abilities and knowledgements for that.
On 13 June 2014 took place the Closure Ceremony of different activities performed in the Educational Road Safety Center of the Mobility Area.
This Ceremony was headed by the Ilustrius acting Major D. Juan Antonio Mérida, and beside him, the Deputy Major Council of Mobility and Citizen´s Protection, Telesfora Ruiz, the Provincial Traffic Chief, D. José Vico, and the local council of Education, D. Jorge Saavedra. :
This Ceremony once more completed the seating capacity of the Ceremony Room with children, young people, fathers/mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers, and teachers as well, to celebrate the different activities developed in the Center:
At the end of the Ceremony, a little girl became representative and gave the acting Major a ballon for the Major hospitalized, wishing him a soon recovery, a very cheered gesture by the audience.
With pop corn and some presents children visited and took photos with the authorities beside the bus paneled with their drawings.
Due to European Mobility Week the 20 of september was celebrated in the Mobility and Citizen´s Protection Area and given by specialists of the Road Safety Center, an Elderly and Road Safety Conference.
They have attended to this conference people both sex between 60 and 89 years from differens day care centers in the city of Granada.
The Conference consisted on a theorical-practical activity, where theorical knowledges of atractive subjects for elderly people have been teached:
This activity went on a high receptivness and motivated atmosphere with a high involvement of all participants very sensibilized because they suffer a high level of accidents (in more of the 50% accidents in the city there is a 65 years old people implicated).
According to the conclusions of the Urban Road SecurityPlan in Granada made by the Mobility and Citizens Protection Area, one of the means of transport and risk group more relevant in Granada are young people driving moped and motorcyles.
Facing this problem the Road Safety Center of the Mobility and Citizen´s Protection Area organised the XI Motorcyclist Conferences to young people to teach and inform them and so reduce the number of accidents in the city with more prepared and responsable drivers.These Conferences, have been inaugurated by the Mobility and Citizen's Protection Councilor Mrs Telesfora Ruiz and the President of the Motorcyclist Association Vespacito Joaquín Muñoz Arias.
In this initiative have colaborated the Motorcyclist Association Vespacito specialists who have given a practical and testimonial aspect as accidents victims to these Conferences.
The subjects given are associated to: upgrade in relative to the current normative, passive and active security, risk factors that affect two wheels vehicles drivers, allies and enemys of road safety, consecuences of an accident, and also practice with specific techniques for two wheels vehicles users, have been the main contents that these Conferences follow, in a practical way, and the purpose is that the two wheels users will be better trained in Road Safety and this way Granada will be a more secure city.

In the II World Week on the United Nations for Road Safety these workshops are taking place focused on young people in Granada.
The II WorldWeek on the United Nations for Road Safety, that will take place from the 6 to 12 of may 2013, has an unique opportunity to make aware about pedestrian´s security. That week will contribute to generate new measures to increase the security of pedestrians and reach the Decenio de Accion target for Road Safety 2011-2012 to save five million lifes.
The target of this program is to encourage between young pre-drivers safety actitudes and behaviours in traffic and road safety. The targets are based on three axis:
To get this targets there have been made 60 minutes duration courses to young people between 14 and 18 years.This young people will have sophisticated driving simulators where they can check the consecuences of the risks when driving, they can also try a overturning simulator to check the efficciency of the security belts.Finally they will learn with tactile screens the harmful effects of alcohol both in the organism and driving.
Mornings (from 9.00 h to 14.00 h): the program will be in those School Centers previously arranged by the Educational Road Safety Center.
Afternoons (from 16.00 h to 19.00 h): the program will be open doors to all the citizens.

There will be several vehicles with different hybrid technologies and security elements for the children, like child retention systems.
The Mobility and Citizen´s Protection Area, through its Road Safety Center, with Granada al Pedal association, has started the training of cyclist to introduce bikes as secure way to move in the city.
This first Activity Teaching with Bike was developed on the morning of Thursday 10 january 2013.

This itinerary starts from the Road Safety Center in Huerta del Rasillo using the metropolitan bike lane that connects with Churriana de la Vega, then the bike lane that passes in paralel with river Genil and going back using the one paralel to A44. The itinerary was:

The Road Safety Center of the Mobility and Citizens Protection Area organises with MAPFRE Foundation the theater play: Clowns in danger, performed in the Jose Tamayo theater in Chana.
The use of theatre as tool for teaching is not new. Historically, theater is a recognized educational way, is a very effective tool to wake the wish of study up in students, as Shakespeare said: "All the world is a stage and all the men and women merely players". It is also proved that stimulates brain development, emotional intelligence and creativity.

RACE young drivers report
Located on the Palacio de Congresos terrace, from monday 26 to friday 30 March 2012 from 9 to 14 mornings and from 16 to 19 hours afternoon.
About 1.000 children join this educational activity to encourage traffic actitudes and behaviours in schoolchilds.
The Road Safety Institute of MAPFRE Foundation, in cooperation with the Mobility and Citizens Protection Area (Road Safety Center), brings to Granada the Educational Road Safety Caravan.
It is an educational free activity for schoolchilds between 8 and 12 years, whose target is to encourage traffic actitudes and behaviours, sharing proper knowledges and performing real situations.
Old and Young people share information to prevent problema due to motorized mobility in Granada.
The Road Safety Center of the City Council in Granada, with the Red Cross and the Psycologist School, have organised a round table about Road Safety for young and old of different cultures to inform them about the most frecuent risky behaviours in these age groups and ways of life, to prevent them and reduce traffic accidents.
